My husband Tom and I visited St Petersburg with my sister and brother in-law for 8 days in 2006.   Anya was our tour guide in St. Petersburg.  From the moment she met us at the train station with her driver, she was a delight. We all highly recommend her to anyone wanting to take a trip to St. Petersburg.  Anya speaks impeccable English and is very knowledgeable about the history of St Petersburg and the surrounding areas. There was a problem with the hotel when we arrived, and within an hour, she had used her local contacts to find us an even better one. She arrived each day very promptly and escorted us to each of our selected destinations, all along the way teaching us about the history and present day aspects of our surroundings.

Anya is not just competent, but an exceptional St. Petersburg tour guide!  One of the things we love about travel is enjoying the local cuisine.  Wherever we were, she guided us to a fabulous lunch spot each day, and pointed us to a variety of charming and delicious places to dine.  So if you are considering going on a tour of St Petersburg, don't delay, just do it.  It is one of the most beautiful and fascinating cities we have visited.  When you go, don't do it without hiring Anya as your private tour guide. We visited St Petersburg in Nov 2008. Having only a short time and being first timers to Russia we decided to use a tour guide. We are very pleased with that decision. We found Anya very professional and a knowledgeable tour guide. She and the drivers were courteous, organized, reliable and in all ways trustworthy.

Ultimately the highlight of the trip for me was just talking with her and getting a picture of the way of life in St. Petersburg.   I don't hesitate to recommend Anya as a tour guide in St. Petersburg to anyone else visiting, she will take a lot of hassle out of the trip, will organize anything you want, will tell you everything you could want to know about St Petersburg's history and monuments and offers a window to the locals you can't get from the usual tourist standpoint.

The weeklong visit we had to St. Petersburg with you as our tour guide was definitely the highpoint of the month we spent in Russia.  Your knowledge of the county's history, art, and culture were unsurpassed by any other tour guide we experienced during the trip.  Your ability to pace the sightseeing to our capability was uncanny - never any pressure or hurrying. 

If we had to choose the very best part of that week, it would have to be the meal you arranged in a Russian home.  Our host and hostess made us feel so very much like old friends getting together - all facilitated by your skill as a Russian interpreter.  The meal was course after course of mouth-watering delights, and the conversation flowed with the wine and vodka. 

Your service to us did not end with the trip.  While in St. Petersburg, I purchased some china and shipped it to Canada with unfortunate results.  You came to my aid providing valuable documents and information that resulted in our reaching a satisfactory outcome with the shipping company.  If ever we have the opportunity to return to St. Petersburg, you can rest assured that Anya will be our very first contact when planning  for a Russian tour guide begins.
