On some days of your visit to St. Petersburg, you may be more comfortable in a private vehicle rather than taking public transportation. Public transportation can add several hours of travel time as some museums are some distance from the downtown of St. Petersburg. It can also require a combination of several buses or buses and the metro (subway).
