Catherine's Palace
Catherine's Palace is one of the most important attractions in St. Petersburg Russia. This palace was originally built for the wife of Peter the Great. Her name was Catherine the 1st. Later according to the current fashion it was redesigned by their daughter Elizabeth in the Baroque style. As a result of the redesign, the Amber Room appeared. Originally it had been a diplomatic gift from the Prussian King to Peter the Great. During the Second World War the decorations that made the Amber Room was stolen by the Nazi Army. It has since been recreated to it's original glory and is now famous for one of the mysteries of the Second World War.
