CANAL TOUR IN ST PETERSBURG
One of the best ways to see St. Petersburg, in my opinion as a tour guide, is via a canal boat. Many people refer to St. Petersburg as the Venice of the North. There is a complex system of canals that are a perfect conclusion to any day in St Petersburg. Canal trips last between one hour and one and one half hours. You can pick from a variety of routes to highlight the sights that are most interesting for you. I'd be happy to make suggestions before you board or I can join you if you'd like to reserve a private boat. The boats come in all sizes for all types of interests.
We can even hire a high speed motor boat and go out on the main rivers for maximum speed! Other people enjoy calmer paced covered boat to protect them from the weather, while still others enjoy having the sun on their face in an open top canal boat. The boat trips are always very informative and are offered over a speaker system or verbally depending on the size of the canal boat. Regardless of your wishes, I'll be sure to hire the right canal boat to match you wishes and desires.
Depending on the route we select, you'll see a wide variation of architecture throughout your trip. You'll also navigate you're way through a multitude of passage ways and under bridges. If visiting during the summer time, be sure to enjoy your trip during the white nights. As your St. Petersburg guide I'll be happy to organize the canal tour in advance.
